For teams that ship hardware

Your boards deserve better than email threads.

Riparian is the engineering workspace for PCB teams — design reviews pinned to the actual board, tasks, living BOMs, and an AI that has read your design. Keep your EDA tool. Fix everything around it.

The status quo

Shipping hardware is a team sport. The tooling isn't.

// reviews

Feedback lives in screenshots

Layout reviews happen in slide decks, email chains, and Slack threads. Two weeks later nobody knows which comment was resolved — until the re-spin tells you.

// sourcing

The BOM is a spreadsheet, again

Copied, forked, emailed, out of date. Approved-vendor decisions live in someone's head, and every quote cycle starts from zero.

// tracking

Your tracker can't read a netlist

Jira doesn't know what changed in rev C. PLM costs six figures and a consultant. Small hardware teams get nothing in between.

The product

One workspace. The whole board.

Review

Review the board, not a PDF

Open a design review and pin comments to the exact pad, net, or courtyard on the real layout. Every thread tracks to resolution — the rigor of a code review, on copper.

  • Comments pinned to locations on the board
  • Review checklists, reviewers, and approvals
  • Request changes or approve — with a record

See

Every layer, in the browser

Upload an IPC-2581 and the whole team gets an interactive 2D and 3D view of the real design — every copper layer, component and net search, measurements, and deep links you can drop into any task or wiki page.

  • All layers, toggled and inspected live
  • Find any component or net instantly
  • Stackup, netlist, and revision history included

Source

A BOM that stays alive

Riparian merges the as-designed BOM from your board data with your sourcing intent. Match lines against a curated parts catalog, qualify vendors, and export clean CSVs. When the design changes, the BOM knows.

  • As-designed and planned BOMs, reconciled
  • Vendor qualifications and an approved-vendor list
  • Catalog matching with datasheet-aware AI lookup

Ask

An AI that has actually read your design

Ask about your boards, BOM lines, reviews, or tasks in plain language. The assistant sees exactly what you're allowed to see — nothing more — and answers with links straight into your workspace.

  • Scoped by your permissions, at the database level
  • Answers cite boards, parts, and reviews directly
  • Never trained on your data

…and the whole workspace around it

Tasks

A board-aware kanban. Link tasks to boards, reviews, and revisions — LB-42 means something here.

[#]

Wiki

Bring-up guides and errata that @-mention parts, boards, and people. Markdown, of course.

[>]

Documents

Datasheets, schematics, fab drawings — attached to the board they belong to, not a shared drive.

[=]

Revisions

Every upload preserved. Rev A to rev C, who uploaded what, when — the full paper trail.

[+]

Parts catalog

A curated, growing catalog with pinouts and datasheets, kept clean by an AI librarian.

Activity

One feed for the whole org: uploads, reviews, comments, part decisions. No status meeting required.

How it works

From export to shared truth in minutes

Upload your design

Export IPC-2581 from Altium, Cadence, or KiCad and drop it in. A 30-layer, 100 MB board parses in about a minute — then it's live for everyone.

Invite the team

Engineers, ops, EMs, that one contractor — $20 a seat, every feature. Everyone sees the same board, the same BOM, the same truth.

Review, track, ship

Run design reviews on the board, work the task list, keep the wiki honest — and let the AI answer the questions that used to interrupt your layout engineer.

FAQ

Fair questions

Does Riparian replace Altium, KiCad, or Cadence?

No — and that's the point. You design in your EDA tool. Riparian is the workspace around it: design reviews, task tracking, BOM and vendor management, documentation, and an AI assistant, all connected to the actual board data.

What file formats do you support?

Riparian is IPC-2581 native — the richest open board-description format, exported by Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, KiCad 9, and most modern EDA tools. One file carries layers, stackup, netlist, and BOM. Datasheets, schematics, and fab drawings attach as documents.

Is my design data safe?

Every organization's data is isolated with row-level security enforced in the database itself, and design files live in private storage scoped to your org. Your boards are visible to your team and nobody else.

What can the AI assistant see?

Only what you can see. The assistant queries your workspace under your own credentials, so database-level permissions bound every answer. Your data is not used to train models.

How much does it cost?

$20 per seat per month, every feature included, after a 30-day free trial. Add or remove seats any time, cancel any time. No annual contracts, no sales calls.

You're in early access — can I use it today?

Yes. Signup is open: create an account, upload a board, and you're in. Early teams get a direct line to the people building Riparian — your feedback shapes what ships next.
